Havasu Dream Track was a “Dare to Dream” project from one of the Lake Havasu City high school students. Lauren Dukes, a high school sophomore participated in the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) program and from that her “Dream” was started. She brought forth the idea of renovating the high school track, as it is in serious disrepair and it is now time to fix it. Through a couple of meetings with key stakeholders and interested individuals and groups, the project is underway.
A contracting company has been charged with giving a rough estimate of things that need to be done, along with the associated costs. After the first meeting they were asked to prepare a “menu” type of estimate and cost quote for the various aspects of the project, in order to allow the project to be implemented and continued based upon fundraising results.
Backed by The K-12 Foundation, and many other key stakeholders, participating community leaders, are busy with meetings, fundraising planning and now through the website are informing everyone about our plan and how you can participate alongside other generous contributors, large and small.
